Family Adventures

Whether it’s a special daddy/daughter day out or all three generations, we can provide a safe and fun family excursion in the mountains of the spectacular Cardrona valley. You can choose from our horses, quad bikes, or our 6 seater 4×4 off-road buggy or a combination of all three we can look after you in a small or private outing and create lasting family memories to treasure.

Children as young as 5 years old can ride one of our gentle horses fitted with one of our super cute kids’ saddles either independently or assisted (being led by a rope from the guide’s horse). We do however encourage children to try riding independently, therefore full instruction before and extra care throughout the ride is taken to achieve this. We know most kids LOVE trotting (running on the horses), so we certainly allow opportunities for this in a controlled safe environment.

For small children from 5-10 years old who are new to horse riding we definitely recommend “The Gold Discovery Trail” 9:30am-11:30am daily, bookings essential.

Quad biking for young families at The Cardrona is always super special as it is always a private custom tour, as we appreciate the differing abilities of all children. So with safety being paramount whilst making sure we have the most fun possible we have a variety of trails and kids bikes to cater for every group dynamic.

Our little Yamaha 50cc quad bike is perfect for your little budding biker of the family, this bike is great for 6-9 year olds and can give the little one in the family an entry level experience to self driving a quad bike in a safe environment.

Our 90cc “Raptor” bikes are great for the 10 year old+ riders in the family. We can go adventuring a bit higher and further with these bikes (and get muddier!)

We recommend “The River Run” tour for families with children, this private tour is always tailored to the group’s ability and can be arranged at a time that fits in with your holiday schedule.

Buggy Rides

If there are under 6’s in the family who don’t want to miss out – they don’t have to!

We can take them as passengers in our 4×4 buggy which can go everywhere the quad bikes & horses go, that way anyone can enjoy the amazing mountain views in comfort as passengers with one of our entertaining guides behind the wheel.
